Salty USN Seadog and his Hellcat, oui? Non.
The French Aéronavale was equipped with former USN F6F-5 Hellcats after WWII and soon used them in Indochina. Three land-based squadrons and two afloat squadrons (one of which saw action on the decks of the loaned Independence-class light carriers Langley/Lafayette and Belleau Wood/Bois Bealleau).
The carrier-based units flew primarily from the French carrier Arromanches, along with Grumman F8F Bearcats and Curtsis Helldivers (holy Halsey’s ghost batman!) All of these cats saw extensive action in that conflict. Some were fitted with 20mm cannon to assist in strafing runs. These planes dropped hundreds of 500-pound bombs around Dien Bein Phu in 1954. After 1955 the French laid their high mileage ‘cats to rest.
