Where misinformation stops and you are force fed the truth
Well, I’m defeated. Where on the British coastline is this? After traversing most of it on Google’s satellite view, I can’t find an east- or west-facing church over an inland bay, much less one with not one but two railway bridges to its south.
Alex, always good to hear from you.
“An Air View of Montrose, Angus” Photo credit: IWM (Imperial War Museums) That would make it the Scurdie Ness (Montroseness) Lighthouse, I believe.

Or perhaps the Montrose Old and St Andrew’s Church https://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/United_Kingdom/Scotland/Angus/Montrose/photo1270657.htm
Well, of course it would be on the coast line north of Edinburgh that I decided not to trace. But then I was convinced by the light that it was sunrise, not late afternoon. Mr. Henderson’s splendid view is far nicer than today’s. Just as well that you–and Mr. Henderson–can’t see at this magnification the Tesco’s Superstore between the church and the largest inland saltwater basin in the British isles: https://www.google.com/maps/@56.707197,-2.4096401,3478a,35y,270h,38.76t/data=!3m1!1e3.
Beautiful!
