Feofilov Alexey Feofilovich Kuban
Colonel (Hetman) Alexey Feofilovich Feofilov. Tall and dashing with impressive mustaches, this cavalry officer between 1914 and 1920 he received 13 serious wounds– as indicated by the wound stripes on his left sleeve in the center photo. Fighting with the Whites in the Drozdov, he had commanded the 2nd Cavalry Regiment during the Great War and in the Civil War eventually rose to Commander-in-Chief of the Kuban Cossack Army. He helped screen the withdrawl from the Crimea in November 1920. He eventually went into exile in Bulgaria and, until 1925 when he dropped off the map (possibly kidnapped by Red agents) he commanded the reformed Drozdovsky combat regiment, eager to get back in the fight.
