Capt. Newt Hamill Hall, head of Newark’s Marine detachment at Peking. Source: Military Order of the Dragon, 1900-1911 (1912). One of only 20 men in history to earn the Marine Corps Brevet Meda, he went on to retire as a colonel and passed in 1939, aged 66.
