Members of a special mission group of UDT and OSS Maritime Unit men aboard USS Burrfish (SS-312) shortly after being recovered after a reconnaissance at Pelilu in the Pacific. (l-r) GMG3c Warren Christen (OSS), SP1c William Moore (OSS), Lt. M.R. Massey (UDT), SP1c John MacMahon (OSS), and SP3c Leonard Barnhill (OSS).The OSS men were assigned duty with UDT-10. These men were part of the only UDT group to launch a mission from a submarine during WWII. Petty Officers Barnhill and MacMahon were lost in action on the night after this photograph was taken.
