LCI Flotilla Four
LCIs including several of the USCG’s LCI Flotilla Four massed at Bizerte, Tunisia, 6 July 1943 while loading troops for the invasion of Sicily. The shallow-draft 158-footers could carry a reinforced company to the surf line, capable of beaching their bows in water just 32 inches deep.
