December 20, 1928: The remains of Jean Bart (1650-1702), famous sailor of Louis XIV, are discovered in the Church of Saint-Éloi in Dunkirk by the historian Louis Lemaire (1877-1941). They are laid in open casket for 8 days, surrounded by a guard of honor, before being buried again.
