Return to Picking up a hogleg on the side of the road
U.S.S. Texas dropped 6 14” shells on my Grandfather’s Recon ‘Squad’ (remnants of his Platoon) as they made contact with Imperials at Apple Hill. T/Sgt. R.G. VanOrsdol. Story not confirmed with my Grandfather as he wouldn’t speak much of Leyte or Okinawa. Offered by Crpl. H. Coates, who also survived the shells.
