YMS-409
Photo from the collection of LT(jg) Bernard Alexander Kenner who served on board YMS-409. He departed a few days before the ship left port and sank off Cape Hatteras. He kept this photo for over 61 years along with a list of his former crew mates who perished, via Navsource.
I believe I have located this missing ship. The number 409 is blurred but, visible. It is as reports stated about 3 miles off the NC coast at Hatteras Island. I sent the coordinates and images to the Naval Underwater Archeological Department but, they have not responded. It should be verifiable without an ROV.
