Watch out for ladders and Black Cats today

Happy Friday the 13th! Of note, 2021 only has one of these on the current calendar.

Below we see a cat on patrol on the Dorval (Quebec) tarmac. Cats were used to destroy rodents that could damage the canvas-covered airframes. Consolidated B-24 Liberator and a Hudson Mk.V aircraft of RAF Ferry Command en route to Britain, wait in the background. 13 May 1942.

As the above image was snapped on a 13th, I thought it may have been posed for that purpose, but it turns out that the date fell on a Wednesday.
