Phillipine Navy beefs up old Hamiltons

This is the remote-firing version of the Mk38. Its probable that the manned version that uses the gunners Mark I/mod 0 eyeball for sighting will be the type that the PI gets due to budgetary reasons.
So far the State Department has turned over two of the old 378-foot High Endurance cutters of the USCG (Hamilton and Dallas) to the Philippine government for use ( as the Alcaraz and Del Pilar) in patrolling the disputed islands offshore claimed by the PI, Taiwan, oh yeah, and China.
However we only gave them the 76mm OTO Melera mount forward (as the Navy is phasing them out of their armories) and removed all the other weapons systems. The PI added a few M2 .50 cals after delivery that they had laying around but they need something in between the fiftys and the main gun.
As a fix the PI government is paying $1.8-million for two new Mk38 25mm mounts on each of the new-to-them Hamiltons.
They are great for taking out small boats, but Im not sure China is laying awake at night.
That will do the trick for a row boat attack….looks sweet as butta
