Your photo shows HMS Afridi (F 07) Her pennant number was not worn because she acted as a flotilla leader, as indicated by the broad black band painted on her fore-funnel. Seen here in 1938, she led the 1st Destroyer Flotilla – Mediterranean Fleet. Before the outbreak of war, Afridi joined the 4th Destroyer Flotilla of the Home Fleet and was sunk on 3rd May 1940 by Ju 87 Stuka dive bombers off Norway.
