Putting a new coat on your 1911

The M1911 .45 Government Auto is perhaps beauty objectified in a firearm. However, we feel the need to constantly change these guns up with aftermarket grips, sights, faster internals, and high-speed do-dads that John Browning would just raise an eyebrow at. With that being said, sometimes we just have a gun fall into our path that needs some extra love and attention to address finish or cosmetic issues, especially on guns that have lost most of their bluing or are on the verge of becoming rust buckets.

These are the .45s that need some love in the form of a new coat.

With a total investment of less than $200 in most cases, the prospect of repainting/finishing your M1911 sounds like a great weekend project.
