My thoughts on fooling around with the Glock 19X for three months…

So in December 2017, Glock snuck me an early production model of the 19X “crossover” to test and evaluate. Now, after carrying it around the house and about town, at SHOT Show and in weather that ranged from snow and ice to desert and saltwater marsh, taking time out to fire 2,000 mixed rounds in six range sessions and not cleaning it, I have to say, it has rather grown on me over the past few months.

The full review in my column at Guns.com.

  • Looks like your T&E G19X has a lanyard loop…is that correct? Love the photos, especially the first one, and that EDC pic with the pocket mag carrier and that sweet-looking folder!

I’ll have to read the full review. Thanks!

    • Yes, in the MHS competition, Gemtech provided the lanyards for Glock

  • https://polldaddy.com/js/rating/rating.jsHad the chance to read the full review and glad that I did. It was much more in-depth than I’d expected and was very well done. Thank you very much!
By the way, I read one of your earlier posts on the G19X, in which you mention the idea of a G19 with a G17 slide and a G26 grip. That can be done, with a Polymer80 “G19” 80% frame, reduced to G26 grip size and with Brownells G17-length slide and barrel made for G19 Gen3 frames. Now the idea is really tempting me…
    Thanks again!

    • Good deal and thanks for the feedback. I wound up buying the G19X from Glock at the end of the T&E, something I usually don’t do. On the concept of slide swaps, etc, have you ever seen Kyle Defoor’s Rattail One-Nine mod? It’s a little extreme but I like it…
