Cannonball or shot-put?

In digging around your yard, especially if you are East of the Mississippi and around anywhere that Revolutionary War or Civil War battles took place or armies crossed nearby, you may find yourself with random solid shot balls. The thing is, more often than not, these are decorative pieces. roller mill balls for industrial applications, or shot put field and track equipment that got away from their former owner.
